Candyland
Most people think that the earth is made of different layers. That there is a core and a crust and a mantle. They also thought that narwhals were a type of whale, that lame jokes are not funny, that eating the eggplant sticks are a good idea, and that Candyland was just a game. They are all wrong. Because everyone knows that dinosaurs live in the earth's supposed "core", that narwhals are just descendants of unicorns, lame jokes are hilarious, and that eggplant sticks are extremely fatal. And of course, Candyland is a real place.
Now once apon a time, there was an extremely foolish girl by the name of Maria. She was a non believer, completely ignorant to these obvious facts. Maria spent her days singing, and making clothes for children out of curtains. One day she was playing the bored game, Candyland, with her best friend, Liesl, (often called Lii), when Maria stated, "You do know that this place isn't actually real, don't you?" And like every non-believer who openly declares the facts of the world false, Maria vanished in a flash of pale blue light, and leaving behind only a scrap of paper and the faint smell of frosting.
Lii, astonished, was a great believer of the facts of the world, and had just begun to open her mouth to tell Maria, that no she was wrong, and of course Candyland existed, when she had vanished in a poof. She was only mildly concerned with her friends disappearance, for she knew that everything happens for a reason, and that the worst thing that could happen to Maria was that she could be eaten by Gloppy the Molassas/Chocolate Monster. Lii stood up and picked up the scrap of paper and read it, hoping for some clue of how to return her friend.
When disbelievers openly declare
that solid fact insists there is no place here or there
where merry sugar people dance on candied roads
My wrath is why your friend suddenly glowed
So venture past mint fields and lollipops pristine
to find the dwelling of mighty Queen Frostine
There you'll find your friend, safe from harm, I hope
And you are free to reclaim her if you can cope
with the magic of Candyland, wonderful it may be
but with too much doubt it can reduce you to insanity.
"Oh," thought Lii, "So that's where she is, in Candyland. But how do i get there???"
in answer to her question, another scrap of paper fell from the air with a poof. Liesl picked it up and read it:
Seeker, it is very simple to gain
entrance to the famous board game
begin at start, and pick a card
really, why must you find it so hard??
"Well, ok then." Lii went to the board and picked up the deck of cards. She placed her piece at stare and drew a card. Before she could read it, a golden beam shot out of the center of the card, widening untill it consumed Lii. Then the light dimmed and blinked out taking Lii with it.

When Lii opened her eyes, the first thing that occurred to her was that she was in a very colorful place. A road made of different colored squares stretched out in front of her. The second thing was that she still had her deck of cards with her, and that she was dressed completely differently from how she was when she was with Maria. Now Liesl has on a red and white striped shirt under pair of blue overalls with some regular sneakers. Her light brown hair was tied up into a ponytail with a red scrunchy. She pulled out the deck of cards, and figuring that it was just like the game, she flipped over the top one. It had a nut on it. Lii was immediately transported to a square with a small cottage nest to it and a old lady in blue picking nuts. She waved hello, and in return, the lady gave her a jar of peanut butter. Liesl pulled another card and got one with a snow flake. Suddenly, she was in front of the palace of Queen Frostine. "Well, that was easy," she muttered to herself. The doors to the palace swung open in a flurry of sugar snowflakes, and Liesl walked inside. There, in the entrance hall, was Queen Frostine herself, standing next to a white board. She appeared to be teaching someone. The Queen turned around, and realised that she had a visitor. "Oh look," she said. "We have a visitor!!!" The other person, in the chair looked up from her notes and turned around. Liesl gasped. It was Maria!!!! "What a shocker," thought Lii. "Its Maria!!!" "I have been teaching your friend here about Candyland's history," said Queen Frostine. "Care to join in on the lesson?" "Sure," replied Lii. She sat down in the desk next to Maria. Queen Frostine pointed to what she had written on the board. "Candyland went through at least three timeperiods. The first started in 1949. This period had only places (Molasses Swamp, Gumdrop Mountains, etc.) and no characters. It wasnt long before characters started to arrive, though. The next time period was the Healthier Choices period, from the 1980s and 90s, and that was when characters such as Mr. Mint and Gramma Nutt arrived. Everyone got this?" She asked. Liesl and Maria nodded.
Queen Frostine continued. "Some of the people and place names were revised in 2002, during the Revision time period. I became Princess Frostine, the Molasses Swamp turned into the Chocolate Swamp, Princess Lolly became Lolly, and Plumpy was removed entirely. Oh how we missed Plumpy then."
"There are foreign lands that are based off of Candyland, but with characters like Winnie the Pooh, Dora, and Spongebob." Queen Frostine finished. "Any questions?"
Lii raised her hand. "Yes, you," "I was wondering if we can leave now," Lii asked. "What??? LEAVE????" cried Maria. "Never!!!" "Ok," said Liesl, "Then im going home without you. I can visit if you want, i know how." "Ya, ok whatever," said Maria. "I just had the best idea. I will write a movie which features me and how i meet a handsome man." "That's great, come back when you finish, ok?" said Lii. "Im going now, bye!!!" And with that, Liesl walked out the door and was transported back to Maria's room.
"Poopsicles," she thought. "I didn't even get to finish playing!!!"
The end but may be continued in other books depending on how much i liked this one and the responses of my friends
